2nd Gear Doesnt Work, Need Help ASAP! :)

Hey guys,

Brand new on here... need some advice. I am buying a 2000 Suzuki Katana GSXF 600 on Sunday. The bike is mint and fine.

However, I have another bike I am looking at for a project bike...

He says that 2nd gear doesnt work but it runs fine otherwise and he drives it without 2nd, just goes past 2nd to 3rd.

He said he'd take $900 for it. Is that a bad deal? Good deal? I can do the work myself but not sure it means if 2nd gear is broken and should stay away?

Please help! I appreciate it. Love this forum so far.

$900 for a Katana with a missing second gear is a TERRIBLE deal. Anything over $250, walk away. I've rebuilt quite a few transmissions, in includes A LOT of work.

I'd say $900 for a 94 in perfect running condition is an ok deal, one with a bad 2nd gear, is bad deal.

That one looks decent...Could be had for maybe a LITTLE bit cheaper because of the mileage.
