  • Where will a Nautilus Stebel fit

I ordered one and quickly found out there is no way it will fit in the stock location on my 04 750
I know others have used this horn just wondering where to mount it
    Pictures would be appreciated

I found out several months ago what you've found out now. Where I eventual mounted it, above the front wheel horizontally, was a big no-no. The manufacture specifically states you must mount it vertically. Mine failed in a brief period of time.

I went back to high dB clam shell horns, high and low tone. It's not nearly as good as the Stebel but it will have to do.

I had to custom make a bracket off the side of the headlight subframe, that I had angled down to allow the strebi to fit neatly sticking out and forward while remaining vertical. I welded the bracket to the frame to make sure it stayed exactly where I wanted it. Just the opening was visable below the fairing from the front. Unfortunately I do no longer own that bike. Maybe the new owners on the site. He was from Conneticut and told him about this site when he bought it. If hes on here, He can probably get pictures.
If its not broke, Hit it with a bigger hammer and blame it on cheap imports

RIP Dad 3/15/08 Love and miss ya already

Put mine behind front left turn signal, lot of room and she sits vertical. Been there 2 years and works fine. http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.p...ghlight=stebel

I put mine where Brian M put his, I have not had a problem with it yet and it has been on for over two years. The stock wiring is kinda funny though so good luck with that. I think it has to do with weak grounds.

thanks Katman05 for the pics andeveryone else for input
funny part is I had left fairing 3/4 off yesterday and figured there was no way to mount it so I stopped
Did you guys use the supplied relay and add wiring or run off the stock system

I removed my stock horn and there was a lot of tiny pebbles inside it , I turned it several times and there was about a half a teaspoon worth that fell out but it still sounded like someone stepped on a duck

was thinking I would pick up power supply from battery and run a jumper from original plug to new relay

That's what I did, and used a quick disconnect so I could remove the fairing when needed.

just did a test firing of it using the harness for my battery maintainer
IT DOES draw more than 7.5 amps , blew the fuse

Just hook it up with a relay, and use the stock wiring to trigger the relay.

You need to use the relay, too much draw.
