There's a lot of info out on the web, but the absolute bible for the Kat is the Suzuki factory repair manual (printed by Suzuki, not by Haynes nor Clymers). It details every test, every circuit, everything. You can usual track it down via your dealership, or via RonAyers.com ($59.07 + $7 S&H).
Suzuki part number 99500-35072-03E (or whatever supercedes that number) is the right item for you.
PS - for others reading this thread, , http://www.themotorbookstore.com/ has ONE used copy of the 1990 manual in stock for $19. (this is appropriate only for 1988 - 1997 Kat 600's).
