So, I just got back from a 7 month deployment and had a nice day to do the winter mods that I couldn't do because I wasn't here. So, started with the shift indent kit. Drained the oil, dropped the oil cooler, then the header (couldn't split it from the mid-pipe so...), then the rest of the exhaust. Moved on to the oil pan (14 bolt?!?!?). Dropped the oil pick up(?), then moved onto the detent arm. Thank you for the advice on the snap ring pliers (read it in a thread on here and bought them before I started) Got the spring in and started bolting everything back up.
Moved on to the ignition advancer. Here is where the problem is.... I got the cover off and looked at the bolt in the center, it's stripped. I haven't ever taken the cover off before now and the bike only has ~2500 miles on it. How the F*** did it get stripped? Now I have to figure out how to get that bolt out. YAY.
Also, in my learning how my new torque wrench works I snapped one of the bolts that holds the oil pan on.
What a day. Hope to have the bike up and running tomorrow. We shall see. Anyone have any advice on the bolt in the center of the advancer?
Marc
