quick question for you guys... which do u think would be a better/easier swap, a kat 1100 motor or an old gsxr 1100? or are they pretty much the same motor? tryin to decide on which one to go with and it seems that the 1100 would be a lil easier install the a b12

I think they are they same. The cam might be different, but at least physically I think they're the same

the cams are different between the two, thats where you get the jump from 136-145hp, well and the bigger carbs and 4-1 header adds to that.


its an easy swap....and swapping the harness isnt as hard as it seems. the only problem i ran into when swapping the 1127 (kat) harness in the 600/ 750 frame, was wiring the instrument panel, all the wires are color coded the same,from the 600/750 harness to 1127, but most of the plugs dont match up, takes about 2hrs to swap and splice harness (gauges, warning lights) but the hand controls plug right in. when using the kat11 harness there will be a few plugs that wont have anything plugging into them, like the power screen control (cause your bike dont have one and the powerscreen wont swap over anyways....lol.

hello i am tring to do the same thing but imma just put in a 750 for my wife but it seems like i have a long rode ahead of me. Im going to follow you to see how your progress is going.
