  • 3k RPM Cut-Off

Hey guys and gals, I have a question.....

This morning leaving for work on my 06 Kat 600 (1800 miles) - I let it warm up for maybe 2-3 mins, rolled it down the sidewalk and then shifted it into 1st gear. As I released the clutch and got the RPM's to about 3k the bike shut off. It did this 3 times, after that it was fine and I rode it to work without it doing it anymore. Any ideas why this may have happened?

    Thanks
    Godspeed

can you be more descriptive? Did it just die? Did it buck/jerk then die? Any unusual noises? were you moving, or did it do it at a standstill and you just revved it?

It hadn't burned through the partially evaporated fuel in the carbs before you tried to roll away. Letting it warm up more or rolling away under 3k until it clears should help, as will dialing the petcock to PRI for 30 seconds before starting.
