  • Changing out a clutch cable

Hey guys I need help replacing the clutch cable on my 97 katana 600....any idea how this is done or the best way to go about it?

How to adjust once you get it into place: http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.php?t=64698

As for the replacing it -- disconnect at the handlebars. Tape the new to the old and then pull the old one through, thus pulling the new one into the same routing. Or check the routing manually (often when they fail, it's because they were routed to the wrong side of the carbs -- should pass between #1 & #2, not to the outside of #1.

Didn't know that routing it on the wrong side of the carbs had anything to do with it failing. I don't think that was the case with my bike as the cable is frayed right at the handle bars not near the carbs. Also how does this cable connect at the clutch is it a hook or what?
