  • space between engine and exhaust

    Hi guys,

Here is a pic of the headers connecting to the engine...

That space does not look right...this is the same on all 4 connections. Can somebody tell me if this looks normal?

    Thanks

yep, looks normal to me, at least it looks that way on my aftermarket exhaust
It doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride.

As long as they are torqued correctly, it's not an issue. However, the rust on that bolt would make me want to pull & replace them.

Ok then...I won't worry about it too much. Thanks Sasquatch!

I was thinking about that too...the rust was bothering me. Then I got to think, it sounds pretty scary to rip that bolt out after its so rusted. It might just break off!

I would pull the bolts as well (replace with new ones and coat the new ones with high-temp antiseize before installing), then double-check while the header was off that there wasn't two sets of header gaskets in the way...

          Cheers,

I fixed it. I just took a hammer and banged them in. Looks so much better now.

Kidding! I just need to concentrate on these carbs and when I finish them I'll sort that out. I'll keep you guys posted.
