i have a 2005 katana 750 and recently my fuel gauge started acting up. when i am stopped it says that i have a full tank then while i am riding it will show the correct amount. any suggestions or has anyone come across this before? thanks

Check the wires that conect to the bottom of the tank.

The connection for your fuel sender runs from the tank to a pigtail connector on the right side of the airbox, then onwards towards the battery area. I would suspect that the wires or the pigtail got pinched at some point hard enough to short the two wires together, and when you are stopping, it's putting sufficient pressure on it to touch the two together (effectively shorting the circuit that would normally run through the fuel sender).
