Well if you don't have the service manual or have not downloaded it yet I would recommend you do that first.
They recommend that you use a VALVE TAPPET TOOL That The CyberPoet sells http://www.katriders.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17251
But I have done the job without it myself, I just used a pair of pliers instead.

Tools you'll need/want are discussed in this thread:
The only specialty tools that you can't get at sears or a local hardware store normally will be the valve tappet tool (I get $6 for it delivered -- as cheap as a tool can be) and the OEM oil filter wrench adaptor ($4.50 + shipping).
