Hi i just bought my first motorcycle, 92 600cc "can-ov-tuna," but anyways i was driving it around and the front end was makin noises. I had my friend drive it and he said it sounded like "the front was about to fall apart." He said it was the bearings or something like that. Could someone clearify on that and tell me what exactly i need to do and how much it is going to cost to get this fixed. Thanks...

Go to RonAyers.com
Click on the tab or button marked fiche.
Locate the Suzuki button & click it.
Locate the Katana GSXF entry for your engine size, click.
Pick your year.
Now scroll down to the front wheel page and open it. It will show you the diagram for the wheel, bearings and axle -- expect to replace the axle at the same time (cheap & wise to do it as well).
OR visit All Balls brand aftermarket bearings and order the bearings from them (still wise to replace the axle).
Q: Are you sure it's the bearings and not the brakes?
Cheers,

For checking the front end:
......or, to avoid that paint can, simply have someone push down or SIT on the rear of the bike! I've often had to take a strap and tie down the rear to something on the floor or under the lip of my bench (when no one was around) 8)
If its the wheel bearings, I think I have a few of the aftermarket ALL BALLS brand still left here, I honestly can't remember what part # goes to what bike, but if you can check an on-line catalog to see what you need I may have them! I'll go double check, but I just moved a small stack of those over the weekend..........
Front end bearings my partner on here, Braada Jim, has good used ones of those that I took him last Dec. No junk - just good quality used ones taken from bikes I stripped............PM him if you need thoseI've owned over 70 Katanas - you think I know anything about them?
Is there such a thing as TOO MANY BIKES?
Can you go TOO FAST on a bike?

$50 -60?! Wow - stuff must be mighty expensive out there!
Must be a stealer price! 8)
I paid...like $8-12 a bearing for the brand new ALL BALLS sealed ones I got. I've had one guy put 12,000 miles on them this year - no problems.
I agree with the $20 for presing them in, although I've gotten lucky and found one guy that did it for $10 each!I've owned over 70 Katanas - you think I know anything about them?
