  • Jet carbs with slip-on and k&n?

Anyone know what the stock jets are on the '05 750 Kat?

I was thinking about going to larger primary jets with my hindle slip-on and K&N air filter. I notice the engine stops making power at 10,500rpm

    What do ya think?

If you look at the torque curve of a Kat (say a printed dyno output chart), the curve drops off at that point -- it's normal.

The reason it drops off is that the engine has passed the point where the cam shapes and valve timing are optimum. Unless you are in top gear, shift up around 9800 RPM to keep the Kat in the maximum torque range for best acceleration.

            K, thanks I'll try that.

On the jetting side, d'you guys think it's worth while pulling the carbs?

IMHO: If the bike is 100% everywhere below 10,500, there is no sense in pulling the carbs unless you are planning on putting in a jetkit.

                Hey,

Lemme know what size jets you end up using. I just got a full exhaust D&D. Am not sure what size I can upgrade to. Oh and installing Ivan's jet kit does wonders for the throttle response, you might wanna try it.
