  • Delkevic Exhaust for 2000 Katana?

    Howdy folks,

Thanks for all the help with the headlights! I'm moving on to getting the carbs worked on. Planning on cleaning them, installing a stage 1 jet kit, and getting a new slip on (the one that came with the bike the previous owner "customized" it).

Would you all recommend a Delkevic exhaust?

What is the benefit of a baffle vs. no baffle (beyond noise)?

I was surfing their site, and they had choices from 8-18" in length, I'm not sure what the length implies as far as function.

Any sagely advice will be most welcome. Thanks!

P.S. I don't have the money for a Two brothers/Yoshi pipe. Just sayin.

I recommend Delkevic, I do not recommend their 8" can. I'd say 14" and up you'd be good. Just my opinion from experience with Delk's.

Thanks again for the advice. Any issues with ordering direct from their site or do you recommend ordering from another vendor?

I ordered direct from their site an had no problems. Just be sure to order from the US site.

Delkevic are high quality exhausts for the money, I have the 8" shorty and my brother in law has the 13" cans. I would take heed to the above person's warning because what may work well on one bike may not work on the other. The 13" and above pipes come with a screw in insert if it is too loud for you.

I've had the 14" tri-oval on my post 600 for ab 6 months and am happy with it.. I found it cheaper new on eBay than on the delkevic website, but I may not have found their US site.. think I spent $180 on it..

I did a write-up on it and posted it somewhere on here if you want to search for it.

I figured I'd go big or go home eh? I was looking around for any compelling indications for a certain length pipe and didn't come up with anything, so I figured I might as well get a shiny bit for the bike

I have a pic of mine, but it's half the size of his lol. It's a 9" can that wasn't on their website, but that they were selling on ebay. I actually think it looks a little too small on the bike, but I went small as I'm going to be adding luggage. For the price, it sounds good and functions fine. They obviously cut some corners somewhere to keep cost down, but it's not obvious where. I've only had it 2 weeks and no issues like you'd expect.
