  • found little part, what is it?

I was doing some work on my platics, when I found this under my bike, I'm not too worried about it, but still curious and maybe it is something relatively significant?

    any ideas?

I do believe that is the drain plug for the air box drain hose, with some hose still attached. This needs to be replaced as it will affect the operation of the CV carbs.

Hard to tell, but it may also be a cap for the vacuum port on top of a carb. With the port broken off in it. Hopefully it is just the drain plug as suggested, if it is the vacuum cap an broken off port itll be a little more expensive to replace.

This is what I was thinking.

Looks like you found your hand...

I think it is one of the sync port caps possibly...

ugh. I was adjusting my tank and moving it around a little, so maybe I did bump the carbs and break the vaccuum port.

The part I was referring to is part # 29 here http://www.bikebandit.com/1995-suzuk...6174#sch280099
Check to see if the port was broken off, if it was you will need to replace the diaphram cover.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19656918/carb%201.jpeg I see all four of those. so it can't be the diaphram cover. Does match those exactly though.

                    1. It's defiantely a cap with the vacuum port still stuck in it from a carb cap.

                    2. Doesn't mean it's off one of the carb caps you have installed atm... very possible it was trapped somewhere on the bike from prior and the cap was already replaced... and it just fell out now.

That is very true, didn't about that. Probably got caught up in the fairings somehow or down below the carbs and rattled out when you were playing with it.

makes sense, the bikes carbs were rebuilt last season, and it hasn't any any work since. so moving my tank around hopefully just knocked it loose.

So that's where those things go! Last time I dropped one during a sync it ended up on top of the engine, under the starter. Took a bent piece of safety wire, a flashlight and a whole lot of patience to get it back out of there.
