yea, wet sand with 2000 grit and buff out with a light compound. But be careful around the edges and raised sections sanding, as well as using the buffer, because you could take all your paint off in one spot pretty easy.

so this wet sanding idea... is it supposed to work on clear coat?? I plan to do a rattle-can as soon as the weather permits (tomorrow hopefully!!!) and I did a practice on a small piece to find that when I did a wet sand with 2000 it really dulled the look... that's why i wonder if you can do it on clear coat-Marty (Red)

Yes, after the clear coat cures (usually 48 hours) you wet sand it to knock downt the "bumps" and roughness of the paint. It will look dull when you first sand it, that is why you have to come back with a light buffing compound and a buffing wheel (can get one from napa that fits on a drill for about 10 bucks) to take the small scratches out and give it the final shiny appearance.
