  • rim question

okay so ive got my 1990 600 project. im looking for a rear tire to replace the one thats on it. I found someone that has a rim from a suzuki GS with a tire on it. He says it could be off a 1980 but isnt positive. I wanted to check on here to see if anyone knew if this rim would fit okay as far as fitting up with the sprocket and all of that stuff before i tore mine apart and tried to compare it to this one. Thanks

Fitting a different rim is way more complicated than it seems like it ought to be. It took me quite a while to get a wider, 17" rim on my 1100 (which came from the factory with 16" rims). There's a whole lot of things that all need to be lined up at the same time. It took me two tries, some light welding and several adapted parts.

be careful with using old tires. they have a date code on them. you want as fresh as you can get.
