    NO!

    Just because they sound the same doesn't mean they are: there≠their≠they're; to≠too≠two; its≠it's; your≠you're; know≠no; brake≠break

      What he said.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

Front and rear tires are not interchangeable. Like they said.

The OP is asking if he can run a 150/60 in the rear instead of a 150/70 in the rear. He didn't word it quite right, but that's what they are asking.

For the front I wouldn't use a 60 sidewall ratio, I've always used and recommended 120/70/17.
Far as having a hard time finding a 150/70/17 for the rear, is it because the local shop doesn't have it in stock? Have them order one like they should do for their customers, or order one yourself online.

120/60's don't usually have the weight capacity to handle a Katana. If you find one that does, then you can run it.

Then every modern sportbike is wrong........ 120/70-17 & 180/55-17 or 190/50-17. The guy at the local MC shop has been huffing the brake cleaner a bit much.....

tell your local mc shop guy to read this thread, because he obviously has no clue what tire sizes actually mean or how they work...

If it has to do with tires & wheels, then you're in the right place.
Best tire for a Katana? What's the tread life on a particular brand ? Size of a stock rim?
Chains & Sprockets? These questions and so much more are addressed right here !

well, you have a pre 98 kat i see. you would need a 150/70 max due to the fact you only have a 3.5" wide wheel out back. You could upgrade to the post 98 4.5" wheel and get a 160/60 on there without a hitch...there are plenty of tires out there in the 150/70 size though, shouldn't have any issues finding something...
