Went to buy a chain yesterday, I walk in tell them i need a 530 o ring chain 118-120 links. The guy then tried to tell me that it would not fit on my katana..... Now if i am wrong someone plz correct me but last time i checked my prekat 600 used a 530 o ring chain 118 links.

your last check was correct, I prefer x-ring personally, you'll notice some people at bike shops don't know what they are talking about.

you can have good quality without breakin the bank without resorting to ebay. I need to trust ppl I buy things such as chains from.

I went with EK 530 ZVX2, which is overkill for an underpowered kat, but make me happy lol, they have color chains as well for bout 100 and with EK quality

Yeah, I got that... I just figured he would have stated what would have fit instead and was curious what that was supposed to be.

I dunno what he was thinking i was too irritated to continue to talk to someone who works at a motorcycle parts shop and tell me i was wrong. so i just walked out. the stupidity of ppl amazes me.

I believe Steves sells them at the Katrider's store here onsite as well as sprockets.

                        Krey and OP

i had almost the same experience today, rocky mt atv tried to tell me i needed a 520x114 for my pre

im actually slightly worried now that the sprockets i ordered from them that "fit my katana" are actually 520 width...

if they are and you are not wanting to convert to 520, there should be no problem with returning them for what you do want. otherwise, many people switch to 520 because they are cheaper ( I believe, but have never shopped for them myself) and 520 will work on a kat, however 114 link chain is a bad joke.

im sure it wouldnt be a problem, just the shipping turn around time would suck
