Suzuki RF wheel/rim swap ?

I ran across some 95 RF900 wheels. The front wheel looks like it may work with the cable speedometer set up like on my pre98 and pre2003. Just wanted to ask before I assumed wrong.

I don't believe the front wheel for that bike will fit the Kat. Pretty sure it's going to be wider at the hub. The only front wheel of that type I know will fit on the Pre Kat front forks is the Post kat front wheel.

The rear wheel is 1/2" wider at the hub, and 2" wider at the rim for sure. To fit it in a pre swinger, you really should mod the swingarm to fit a larger tire by widening it at the brace.

If you want that wheel set, you would need to consider swapping in the RF forks/front end.

A bit of cross referencing puts...

03+ Kat wheels = 05+ SV650 wheels.

98-02 Kat wheels I could not verify a match to anything...

RF900 front wheel uses a 20X47X14 bearing, with a 20.8X27X74 spacer between... that is going to put the outer bearing to bearing spacing at 102mm wide...

compared to the 02 and earlier Kat front wheel with 15mm axles, 15X42X13 bearings, and a 15.3X21.7X63 spacer... putting the spacing there at 89mm.

03+ kats have 17X40X12 bearings with 17.5X25X88 spacers... putting that at 112mm.

That's just looking at the bearings/spacers, not also looking at fork spacing, rotors used, etc...
