  • Shock and brake upgrades for 99 750 Kat?

Hey Katland - what are the accepted upgrades for my 99 Kat (750). Looking for a bit more "sport" and a bit less "tourer" kinda ideas. All thoughts appreciated.
    Roll on the summer !!!

Best way to make the Kat into a sport bike, remove bike from fuel cap, install new bike on fuel cap. It's a big heavy bike that doesn't make much power, and has a very basic suspension. I'm still guessing though, that it has more potential that you aren't using. I've seen people ride Kats fast.

Now if you just want better brakes and suspension, a few people have swapped Busa front ends, which should take care of the brakes and the front suspension. Tmod on here does one hell of a job with a rear suspender by all accounts. The other possibility for the front end is the Racetech cartridge emulator and properly sized springs in the front.

Not sure what your problem with the brakes is, they have enough power to put the bike on it's nose, and lock up the rear. Perhaps a pad upgrade would help the lever feel as well as some PTFE (stainless) brake hoses. I've had pretty decent luck with the EBC HH pads on everything except my KLR, which needs a softer pad.

          Just because they sound the same doesn't mean they are: there≠their≠they're; to≠too≠two; its≠it's; your≠you're; know≠no; brake≠break

Ditto all of this. DONT BUY GALFER LINES.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

I don't know why people think that putting the worst part of a Hayabusa on a bike with 1/2 the displacement is a good idea. It's not. Don't take my word for it, I'm just a carb guy. Ask Tmod, he's the suspension guy.
