      Very true.

I just changed the bulb. It's super easy to get into lol.
      What bulb would I need?

Replace the gauge backlights with LEDs. Green or blue would be my choice but there's all kinds of colors available.

You can do it on the cheap by buying the LEDs, some 120 ohm resistors, a small circuit board, some wiring connectors, some 18 gauge wire and a small project box. Build an adapter box for powering the LEDs and install the LEDs in place of the original bulbs. If the LEDs are loose then use a dab of clear silicone to hold them in place.

See here: http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz for help with the circuit.
        supply voltage will be 12,
        diode forward voltage: 3.2
        diode forward current: 20
fill in the total number of LEDs you need
check wiring diagram and click on [Design my Array]

Sounds sick, I would do purple leds probably. I just got a purple led kit and it looks good with the bike.

A purple brake light? Not to sure how legal that is. Oh, purple gauge lights, yeah, that's cool.

If that's your thing then that's your thing. I'm pretty conservative and like most of my mods to go unnoticed by anyone who's not pretty familiar with Kats. They sure make me smile, though.

My concept was wires from the LEDs following the stock harness out of the instrument cluster with connectors that would be attached to wires coming out of the box. That way it's easy to disconnect for work in that area of the bike plus it gets the resistors' heat away from the gauges and where they can get some airflow to cool them off.
