  • GPS Mount

I'm thinking of getting a GPS mount for my Kat and was looking for some suggestions. I know that Ram-mounts.com makes great mounts but it's hard to tell if something is compatible or not because of the handlebars on the Kat.

What kinda mounts are you guys using?

I just ordered this one from GPS City. Located in both the USA and Canada. Decent price and comments from the other riders that have purchased it. I am going to have a mount installed so I can use the original cig lighter cord and just plug it in or out when the need arises.

I just used my Nuvi car mount - attach it to the tach. I also made a safety cord that attaches to the back of the GPS and to the windshield (just in case) No problems with vibrations or rain. Cheap!!

So I finally got around to attaching the mount today. However, there wasn't enough room on the handle bars to make it fit. Did you run into this problem too?

Since I have stock mirrors I was just able to mount it to the metal shaft of the mirror since it's just a U bolt.

I am in the process of making a custom mount for the top center of my dash. I have a pre that I put a double bubble wind shield on so in gives me enough room to put one there. I should have it done in the next week or so I will put picks up when done.

New member here but I am about to make a custom mount for my 2002 katana. Looking to mount it in the center of the dash off the stem. I am a Mechanical Engineer so as soon as I get home I will be getting some dimensions and drawing it up. I will post photos and a parts list when finished.

I had no problem mounting it to my existing stock handlebar on the left side. The thing is rock steady. I am assuming you tried the right side?

I will do so for sure. Had a good long 100 mile ride to stare at where I want it at. Now that I am sitting at work I will start figuring something out.
