  • New Katana wielding samurai here!

    Hello guys, young'n'dumb rider here!

Just bought myself a GSX600F (Not sure if it goes by the name of Katana, as it isn't labelled as one)!

It's a little taccy but it was cheap enough at £450, only minor issues really like a cracked front mudguard (old owner has replacement for me) and blowing downpipes (small hole in one of them, thinking of patching it with Gun-gum as people reccommend), and some bodged wiring, like the front light stays on regardless of whether you turn it off on the switches.

It's my first fully faired bike, and it feels so much different to ride then my previous ones (Fazer/NTV650), you really have to stress cornerning on it, is that due to the riding position? I can't really bring it down to the weight as my NTV was pretty much the same weight and that went around corners almost naturally, other then that, loving the bike, very comfortable, not sure how to sit to reach the rear brake comfortably though!

Welcome. European bikes didn't get the "katana" badges, it's a GSXF. What year?

No, it's fully because of an old worn out suspension that was cheap to start with.

Properly weighted springs in rebuilt shock/forks with emulators added in the forks + a little adjustment = a bike that will handle amazingly well and feel very "nimble".

        It's a 95' xjunker.

So it's the shocks that give me that 'why am I not turning' feeling? They're set to one at the moment, not sure which is soft/hard yet so didn't play with them much, but they're probably badly worn regardless of the setting...

Need to sort the blow out before anything else really, it's getting worse and it's doing my ears in, it's close to the sound of open headers!
