Hello from the uk, I owned a 1000cc katana a few years back and ran it for 4 years it was a dream realised, I sold it on because I wanted a bike i could tour with, the kat was epic but i'm 52 and even an ardent fan would admit its not a touring bike. I work in the oil industry as a fitter and own a few bikes that i maintain myself, I have my own workshop and restore bikes to ride rather than spend megabucks on the latest missile.
I have built all of the bikes my sons have ridden over the years and i'm proud to say they have all been from the frame up, including paint and laquer. My son owns a 600 kat and I have a large photo file of before and after shots that I can post including a few tips and tricks to save money on a restoration.
current bikes: Honda 1100 blackbird and a yamaha rd 400 tr3 replica, suzuki gsxr 400 gk73
