New joiner here, Picked up an 02 600 Kat today. The 86 gs 550 esg bit the dust. Had it 4 years and a few miles ridden. It was one of those with the 2 carbs which amounted to 2, 2 barrel carbs. 4 cyl engine. I did not venture far from home on that one. This one I hope to make a few more trips on.

I am currently in Wichita Ks.

This bike needs a little love and attention. Running order as is, Needs, front tire, chain and sprockets. Valves set and carbs after that. 30,000 miles, it will be ridden most of the year the last one was 20 degrees F and above with dry pavement. I am not a young person by any means.

Much appreciation for the service manual and petcock operation so far I'll be reading and learning.

    Thanks

    Scott

                Wild-Bill,

I see you are from Jacksonville AR, I have Kinfolks there. Own a golf course on Arington road.

That is the old homestead place where Daddy was raised.

Valves set. All were tight, probably never been done since new 30k on them. Very clean in the top end like regular oil changes have been done. Familiar territory as the old bike adjusted the same.

Carbs and orings from the boot to the head is next.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

                            Where in Wichita?

I was born in Wichita, grew up in Derby until I was 6. My dad was stationed at McConnell (KC135 pilot)

90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.
