  • Picking up a Katana on Friday, new to this forum!

Hey guys. Like I said, I'm going to be buying a 2002 Katana 600 this friday, it will be the second bike that I've owned. My previous bike was a 1989 Ninja 600, so I'm excited to have something similar but newer.

Some initial questions that I have are about modifying it to be a streetfighter. The one that I'm buying has some fairing damage, so I'm considering just ditching the fairings and getting a new cluster/headlamp if it isnt too difficult. I'm sure some of you have probably done this, how hard is it?

    Thanks, see you guys around.

Welcome. There's whole bunches of discussions already started concerning gauge and headlight concerns when building a streetfighter.

Have you thought about repairing the fairing damage? There's plenty of threads about that, too and the Kat doesn't take well to being naked. It's really kinda ugly when you take the fairings off.
