Hey there,
I've just logged onto this site and thought I'd introduce myself and my bike. I've just moved from Ontario and am settling into BC (a place where a bike is both necessary and drivable all year!). I didn't have much cash to spend on a bike but leaving my old Ninja in Ontario was killing me so I made a rash decision and bought a Katana 600 as a fun looking ride and a step up from my little 250.
It is true what they say though, if it's too good to be true, it likely is. I didn't pay much for the bike and here's why: after 2 weeks in the shop, the mechanic told me that they were basically done with it and weren't interested in fixing the remaining problems, not at affordable rates anyway. I was able to drive the bike to a friend's garage (after two weeks it finally was drivable at least!) where we've disassembled it and are now trying to work on some issues ourselves. I'm a novice when it comes to bike repairs though so I'm here on katriders to seek advice while working away on it (will likely be posting questions as the project continues..) and to find some fellow riders when the bike is presumably drivable once more.
Looking forward to being part of the katriders group! Cheers.
