  • New Guy Stationed In Turkey (for now)

    Hello everyone!
My name is Lawrence Curtis but i usually just go by Curtis. Im in the Air Force finishing up my 15 month tour in Turkey. I pcs to San Antonio, Texas in september to Fort Sam Houston working at the tech school for Medical Logistics. Once i get to San Antonio i plan on purchasing my first bike . Ive already taken the Motorcycle Safety Course and have already somewhat gotten my feet wet with Riding. Ive been advised from multiple people that the Katana 600/750 is a great starter bike (though it is heavy). Ive done my research and for that im trying to spend (3k) this seems to be the best bet. i dont plan on leaving it stock. but thats enough for now..if any one has any advice or tips for shopping please feel free to share. im glad to be apart of the community.

              Welcome from Ohio.

The Kat might be a bit heavy but I ride mine every day...for me it does just fine for daily commuting, cruising, and "sporting about".

Welcome. You've chosen a great bike for your first. For 3k you should be able to get a hell of a kat, even in the summer. The 600 is cheaper on insurance and lighter, but the 750 has a bit more power. Either is a great choice. I'd own either. In fact I own 2 600's right now
