Welcome. Since you've never ridden before, I would seriously reccomend taking an msf course in your area.

The course is a must! Although I definitely had some trouble with the box, and we got to do them on loaner Hyosung 250's. They looked like a mini-bike version of the GSXR. So, I would definitely recommend taking your Kat.

Welcome to KR, for sure take as many riding courses as u can dont just stop when u get ur license, and most folks have a hard time with the box portion of the test so if possble practice that one in a empty parking lot before u take the course. Good luck to u in the BRC
