      Welcome to KR.

New to you 06? what's the mileage? if it's low I'd look at the tire production dates and see how old your tires are to start with.

      As for upgrades

Seat - corbin sargent or suzuki OEM gel seat if your doing long hauls
      Brakes HH pads up front
suspension- heavier fork oil up front (cheap) Springs and shock upgrades (not cheap )
Tires- depends on your riding style but lot's of choices out there.

If your a new rider? The biggest upgrade you can do IMHO is go take some rider training courses and upgrade your skills then go from there. That and upgrade your gear, again this depends on your riding style and plans for what you want out of your kat.

+1. Upgrade yourself first as necessary then the bike. As far as both are concerned, the search button will be your best friend for getting ideas.
