Good luck in your future military endeavors. I served for 9 years 1 month and 2 weeks (1998-2007). But who's counting? I separated as an E-5 (second class petty officer) from the Navy as a Navigation Electronics Technician. I was stationed on the USS Miami SSN-755, a nuclear powered submarine home ported in Groton, CT. After that I was stationed at the submarine repair facility in Groton, CT. I only did one deplyment due to shipyard time, but Ive been to France, Spain, Italy(x2), Turkey, Crete, Bahrain (X2), Puerto Rico (x14), Ft Lauderdale FL (x10+), Cape Canaveral FL (x2), Annapolis MD, Halifax Nova Scotia, and Portsmouth NH. I think that is it. Some surface boats pull into different ports, and other submarines pull into different places. Then it also depends on what coast the boat is stationed on.

The Navy corpsman learn a lot of medical stuff. Some even deploy with Marine units as there medic. On submarines the independent duty corpsman is the only medical person on board.

There are so many chances in today's military. Like I said good luck, and thank you.

Lastly check out the Patriot Guard Riders. Great cause and a great group of members nationwide.
