Hey yall, im David out of San Antonio TX. Ill be getting a 1997 GSX600F in trade for my truck, a 1985 K10, it was my offroad toy but has been sitting in my parking lot doing nothing. The bike will be getting a fender eliminator, LED turn signals, and im looking at a diff exhaust. Ive been reading up on the forum for a couple days, i really want to change the bike to 4 into 1 set up with a short muffler or gp pipe on the right side, is there a header to let me do this, i read something about the post 98 headers? Ill get some pics after i pick it up. Also have to sync the carbs, it idles like crap after the PO had a "buddy" install a dynojet stage 1 jet kit.

Welcome. Plenty of exhaust options out there but the word is that the DJ jet kits aren't so good. FP (which I have on my 1100) works well and I never had a problem with the stock jetting on my 750 with a GSXR header and Yoshi pipe.

Well i love the sleek look that the GP pipes give the pre's. Anybody got a pic of a bike with dual GP pipes? If that doesnt look completely stupid i might take that route. Scoping out prices i could prob get away for around 130 bucks for the post 98 swap. then another 60 for the single GP muffler. I relize that they are obnoxious, but i live in San Antonio, not a big deal lol, and i agree that pipes save lives.

Also i come from the offroad world, ran a yoshi on my quad for a while, broke it too many times to be very impressed with them, run a Leo Vince right now

def leaning towards the post 98 swap. On that note, does the 98 pan use all the same bolts? Change the oil capacity at all? Am i going to need to fab a midpipe for a gp exhaust or does it bolt to the end of the header? Im still reading on this swap so forgive me if these have been aswered elsewhere

Couple of things guys. I read somewhere that the 750 swingarm is 1.5" longer than the 600 swinger, any truth to that? Ill also be swapping in the post rims to get the 4.5 in the back, 5.5 would be cool, but not looking to do custom fab work just yet.
