Hey everyone, my name is Doug, and i am a proud Suzuki rider. My first bike was a 1987 Suzuki GSXR 750H. I bought this bike 8 years ago for $1200. when i got it, it had all sorts of problems, from bad brakes to a bad ignition system, not to mention, all the fairings were cracked and broken. After lots of time and work, my GSXR finally made it to the street. i have been riding it for going on 7 years now. It has a 6 inch extended swingarm, dyna 2000 ignition, full vance and hines exhaust, stage 3 jet kit, k&n air filters, webcam racing camshaft, wiseco high performance pistons, and the front and rear sprockets have been upgraded( dont remember how many teeth though). I have made a custom rear tail, a custom windscreen, and have fixed and sanded all my fairings. i am slowly taking up the art of airbrushing so i can paint it myself.
I have just recently came across another suzuki for $1200. It is a 1988 Katana GSX 600fj. i was told that the bike did not run and that the carbs were shot. i bought the bike after i thoughly looked it over despite the "bad carbs" and the totally smashed up fairings. The bike was in better shape than my GSXR when i purchased it. When i got the bike home, I found that the previous owner apparently tried to do his own carb work, without success. So, i tore into it that night, and got the carbs off. After a very extensive cleaning, the carbs were put back on, and the bike runs pretty damn good!!! there is a hiccup at around 3000-4000 rpms, but its not always there. i plan to have the carbs professionally rebuilt and synced soon. I will post pics of both my bikes soon.
