    Hello all,

I'm a new rider, looking to buy my first bike. I have my eyes on a 2005 GSX600F with 20,000 miles, they're asking 2700$. Just wondering what general opinions here are on that price and that year of bike. Also looking for any things I need to watch out for if I do end up buying it. Thanks in advance!

make sure the tires are in good working order, the fork seals are in good shape

If or when you buy it change the oil ASAP no matter what the former owner told you about the last oil change.

new rider? get into the local Motorcycle Rider Safety Program. a 600 is a pretty good bike to start with, but any bike will kill you if you try to do more than your abilities and it gets away from you. remember, empty parking lots and deserted back roads will be your friend for a while, and having an experienced friend to ride along with helps too. welcome!

Seems like a good price to me.

If you pull the trigger your first stop should be Southland Suzuki, on Garden Grove Blvd. and Beach Blvd. Ask for Ed, Aaron, Chad, or Mark. Tell them you just bought it and you'd like for them to do a once over. They'll take good care of you. Tell them Tom With The Busa sent you.

                  And welcome to KR, neighbor!

Thanks everyone....I say new because I haven't ridden in over 10 years...so I'm basically starting from scratch. The Motorcycle Safety Course is scheduled for next month. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I'll be able to pick the bike up in a couple days.
