Well I took the plunge offered the guy $1800.00 and he took It. after looking at a lot of bikes in this price range this was by far the nicest. One nice thing is the guy is local in fact just a couple of miles from me. He had plenty of toys and it was clear he took great care of them all. The bike is very clean, and I can't wait to pick it up!!!!!!!. both times I was there I started the bike up no problem after checking to see if it was dead cold so I'm not to worried about the carbs the front tire has lots of life left in it but the rear will probably be changed this winter. when I get it home I can take a look at the charging system and will probably throw a new battery in it with a battery tender just like my dirt bike. The title was clean and registered to him, several of the other bikes I looked at had salvage titles, no titles, or in some other way seam a little shady.

As soon as I get it home tomorrow I'll post some pictures.I've been riding only dirt bikes for the last 7 years so I'll be shopping for some gear tomorrow. I love new toys!!!!

Thanks for all the input guys, great site I'll be hanging so I hope to get to know some of you better.

    Thanks Richard

Sounds like a decent deal . But I don't like to call a Kat750 (or even 6) a good beginner bike . Depends on the person mostly , though . But in general , no . They ARE kinda heavy (and TOP-heavy at that) , and that plastic is 'spensive stuff . Plus the 750 CAN get you into trouble fairly quickly if you're being stupid.

That is a clean looking bike! Re-pack that V&H and get the pipes powder-coated this winter and she'll give you a whole lotta fun for a long time to come. Welcome to KR, by the way.

Oh, it looks like you've got rivets holding the exhaust can together. Screws work just as well and you don't have to drill them out every year when you re-pack the can.

Yah the lowest hanging pipe has a pretty good size dent in it so I plan on working that out this winter and coating the pipes will be a must. the screws
sound like a great idea, and I'm sure your rite about the re-pack its a lot louder then it should be.
I'm looking forward to working all the small issues out this winter.

First full day with the 750

We'll I took care of a couple of essentials today after picking up the bike just yesterday. Got the title/registration transferred in my name, got it insured,
went up to Dmv took the written test passed and received my 90 day learners permit, I had a motorcycle endorsement before I moved to Washington but neglected to renew it when I got my license 12 years ago. And of coarse take it out for a about 40 mile ride. It was great everything
worked no issues. Its been a while but it felt good to get back on the road.
