Welcome to KR! I bought my bike as a wreck for $250, got it looked at by a mechanic friend of mine to make sure the frame wasn't messed up. Bought a new set of handle bars and forks, couple of other items. So far I have spent about $800. My chain needs to be replaced next, and last on my list is a new right side fairing and lowers. After that is just making her look good. I have done all of this stuff myself, and I have probably saved myself a load of money. A couple of scraped knuckles and broken mirror is the worst I've had to deal with.
