Well, I have a Katana new to me. It is an 02 bank repo. When I bought it the bike wouldn't rev without cutting out. So I dumped out the year old gas, changed the oil, and put cr8e spark plugs in it. The cr8e plug is what I had at the time, they are one step hotter and only have one ground electrode. I went through the air box, no gas or blow by, filter is clean. Now the bike sounds great, throttle is very responsive, motor internals sound secure, no knocking or chatter. The bike does smoke though and the stock cr9ek plugs were black. It is a black smoke and could likely be residual, or rich etc... I am not sure yet, I need a new sprocket cover, as you know it holds the shifter and the case busted were the shifter mounts. I also have access to a dynojet dyno to tune the bike in. The bike needs some love and I enjoy winter projects. This seems like a very legit forum and I am glad to have the info.
