New Kat owner, new member
Hey everyone. I just bought a 97 Kat 600, not running, today. I stumbled across this page while trying to trouble shoot what is wrong with my new toy (so if you're mechanically inclined, I have a question up under the mech. section! any help would be appreciated!).
My name is Chris. I live in Norman, OK and I'm 23 years old. I have a 1 mth old baby boy named Sladeon, and I happily (most of the time) live with my g/f. I work in the oilfield on a drilling rig, so I work a lot of long hours, and I have a very hectic work schedule.
I grew up in the middle of no where, Oklahoma riding four wheelers, dirt bikes, and 4x4's. I'm pretty naturally inclined when it comes to working on things, just I tend to need guidance when working on something new like this project. This is my first "sport" bike to own, but I've ridden several, along with cruisers, and dirt bikes. Actually my first bike was a Suzuki 125cc enduro, I believe it was an EX model if that sounds correct. I had it for several years until I got bored one night and decided to pull the exhaust manifold off and ride it around raising hell and being loud. It was fun until I shut it off and seized it up. Who was I to know that 30 deg air on a red hot head would warp it? (dumb kid, lol!)
