  • Howdy...

    Hey peeps,
just doing the routine and waving Hi!!! well i'm looking into getting a Kat's but debating on what year to get..what are the general differences between certain year as far as motor/suspension/wheels/brakes etc..i was looking into the 98+ beacause some of the component are consider an "upgrade" to the Pre 98..i'm i correct? well like to hear back from you expert out there and just saying Hello!

Welcome! The year to get is open to debate (and there are plenty on here that will debate it). The 'upgrades' you speak of are largely cosmetic for the 98+. Some like the looks of the old, some like the new...

It doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride.

Welcome to KR!!! I'm partial to the 750 Pre's right now simply because it's what I ride. I won't get rid of it, but I'll be in the market for an '07 simply because I want one and it's easier to get aftermarket parts.

Thanls Peeps for the warm welcome...well what i was looking at are the Pre 98 Kat's but i read and searched that the rear wheel are all 17x3.5 compare to the 98+ which are 17x4.5 (i beleive i'm correct). i like something with a wider tires so would the 98+ fit directly? or is there some mods work needed? also is there a way or a site that i can look up the Vin# of the bike/motor to find out if it consider a "stolen" bike/motor? i try to (before) go to the DMV and asked them if a certain Vin# have any back fee or stolen or what so ever and all they would tell me is that if you're not the register owner, they can't give you the info. i mean shyt if i was the register owner then why the hell would i need to ask them if it is stolen or have any back fee. so yea that my question to you guys.
                    thanks
