I started riding a couple of years ago (took a course with PRS in Surrey, BC), at the time I owned a 1981 kz440ltd, but as I rode PRS's sport bikes at the course I realized there's a certain level of comfort that can't be had with cruisers. After that I began looking at different styles of motorcycles, and found that while smaller sport bikes (gs500e) are very comfortable and smooth to ride on, some of the larger sport bikes are not (zk6, gsxr). They were either too sensitive for my level, too big, rider position too aggressive...
Then I saw the Katana... A sport touring bike, designed for both sport and a more comfortable position, and I fell in love.
Now after two years, I am finally getting around to getting one.
I'll be checking it out this Monday, it is a blue 99 katana 750.
What do you guys normally look for when you're checking out a Katana you want to buy? What are the most common faults and signs of abuse or misuse?
For a 99 kat 750 in a clean good shape with 20,xxx km on it, what would you suggest is a good price (cbbtrader says 3650 for extra clean retail price)?
