  • Just bought my first bike

Hi everybody, my name is Steve and as the title says, I just got my first bike. It just happens to be a '92 Katana 600. I'm quite excited about the whole thing, just got my permit yesterday and am registered for the MSF basic course in 2 1/2 weeks.

EDIT: Just got off work, here's the only pic I've got, its from the ad. The guy I bought it from is storing it until I'm done with my two week Army Reserve time so then I can go pick it up and drive it home (Saturday!)

Almost forgot... Less than 12,000 miles on it. Picked it up for a quite reasonable $1800. Plus $50 because he had a new clutch cable installed that day. Plus $50 more for the matching helmet.

I know, I'm not a big fan of the paint either. I am going to be repainting it at some point. I was thinking a matte black.

On a side note, I just picked up a used Alpinestars leather jacket, gloves and back armor. $255 for all. I love Craigslist.

Well the guy I bought it from had CF clutch/brake handles put on and handed me low-pro turn signals, also CF. Still need to put those on. Everything works on it. Needs paint anyway as the green is starting to wear off around the edges of the plastic, and of course that nasty spot where it was knocked over. Apparently, it used to be blue. This is going to be my learn how to ride/maintain/modify/paint bike.
