Hey all,
My name is Brendan and I'm something of a shadetree cycle mechanic. I worked as an apprentice mechanic for 9 months under one of the better BMW/Ducati mechanics in the chicago area, then found out apprentice levels of pay didn't pay the bills, so I moved on to other things.
Anyway, my current project is a '78 Kawasaki KZ650-C2 that is in about 3 rubbermaid bins in my living room, awaiting me to have time to finish it's 'rat-bike' restoration. Previous bikes were a '79 KZ750B Twin, '91 Honda Nighthawk 750, and a '93 BMW K1100RS.
As for my presence at katriders.com, a friend of mine bought a 'mechanic's special' 2001 Suzuki Katana 600. It's completely stock except for a good bit of road rash from a previous owner. I told him I'd do what I could with the bike to make it a reasonable bike to learn to ride on, but I'm having some problems with it which i'll be posting about in the tech section. Mechanically seems pretty sound, just really really ugly, and needs a little TLC.
