  • GSXR equivalent ?

Hi, this is my first post.
The literature on my 2001 750 Kat says it uses a GSXR engine. What year, and is it easer to find parts searching using the GSXR data? Example: exhaust bits.
    Thanks,
    F

The engine in Kats and Bandits is the same basic engine that was in air/oil cooled GSXR's from a few years earlier. You can use those GSXR otors and parts therfrom in a Kat or Bandit motor to hot rod it, although I don't know if I would monkey with a 01 motor if it's in good conditon. maybt that's just me...

I see that you are from Ottawa.
There is quite a few local members on here.....and a couple even have a Katana too!
We have howerver, had a bit of experience modding the bikes for esthetics...which is pretty much the way to go with these bikes. If you want to make it a super-quick missile....there is other routes to take...namely getting a different bike. We can help you out either way. Best thing that you did was sign up on here.

                        Hey Stevie,

Tried to PM you but your pm's are full. You had offered to sell me a bandit header for a replacement on my 06 kat 750. Do you still have it, and should it be a direct replacement for my bike? PM me if you're interested in still selling it. Thanks!

OH, and welcome to Katriders, Fraser! sorry to jack your first thread....
