Greetings.
I recently purchased a 1991 Katana 600 with the intentions of fixing it up and hopefully getting a decent return on my "investment". I am currently building two motorcycles, a 1999 Kawasaki EX500 trackbike and a 1993 GSXR 7/11.
I find this site very agreeable since most of the questions I have with regard to the Katana 600 have been answered. When I purchased my Katana, it wasn't running due to an improperly assembled carb, old gas, dirty carbs, and dirty plugs. The bike is now running, but it still has a few minor issues such as a leaking petcock (since I'm new, I can't PM CyberPoet for his rebuild kit yet), it doesn't idle very smoothly (I think it's a combination of the carbs needing to be re-cleaned after having bad gas ran through them, and possibly a jetting issue: 122.5 mains, 2 needle shims, stock needle, etc).
I plan on pulling the carbs again this weekend and giving them another good cleaning and pulling the spark plugs to see if I can find any hints (running rich or running lean) as to why the bike isn't running well until the 7500RPM range.
As aforementioned, I like this site and the search functionality is a great thing. Too bad some people don't know how to use it...
