Hi everyone,
What a fantastic forum, glad I chanced upon it. My name’s Tom, from Nottingham in England, UK. Had the 1990 GSX750F Slingshot (we don’t call them Katana’s over here in the UK) for 18 months now, in that time it’s needed a bit of work (in chronological order):
New battery
New tyres
New petrol tank gauge float unit
New petrol tank (as it rusted through the bottom)
New air and oil filters
New spark plugs
New petrol tap
Replacement choke cable
Replacement clutch cable
New front headlight unit (this crash was my fault for once!)
6 new indicators (mostly all my fault!)
New windscreen
Complete front brake over haul (new o-rings and lines)
Complete rear brake overhaul (as above)
Fairing repaired, re-sprayed and re-badged
As you can see there’s not much of the original bike left. But I love her, best thing I ever did was buy it. Upgraded from a commuter scooter (what intermediate bike? No thanks!!)
We’re on the road and fully repaired just in time for the foul weather!!
