  • Pennsylvania mountain roads fall tour

We left on a Wednesday after work and headed for Ellicottville NY. 7 guys were going to go but it ended up just 3......750 Kat,Ninja 500,Ducati Diavel. We took the scenic route along the Niagara Escarpment and then down the Niagara Pkwy past the falls to the border. Thursday we headed for the Alleghany mountains. Once we got going on 555 it was one great road after another all the way to Williamsport. Switchbacks, great scenery and no cops. Best combination of twisty roads and scenery we've ever done. The 554 that takes you to Williamsport was unbelievable. Brew pubs in both towns had great beer and food. The stout in Ellicottville is highly recommended. Friday morning we took some great roads over to 44 that had sun, rain, fog and cold all in about 20kms. We followed 44 as it wound its way all the way back to NY. Great road. We then followed small roads back up until we were south of Buffalo where we got on the highway and headed for home. Next year we are going to repeat this route to Williamsport but carry on to the Catskills,Vermont and Maine. Mountain roads as much as possible and staying in towns that have micro breweries. Can't wait

No unfortunately. We are terrible for taking pics. I think it is going to take a trip to your neck of the woods to get better roads. We are trying to figure out how to get out to Northern California. Ride out? Tow the bikes and get there fast? Fly out and rent bikes? We are hoping to go 2 years from now.

There are lots of awesome roads out here, hope you can make it!
Renting bikes tends to cost an arm and a leg. A cheap rental will be $125+ per day and that's for a so so bike. + extra insurance is usually mandatory (unlike with cars where it's just optional) and then there's gear rental. If you can bring your own that helps. Probably not super easy to travel with. If you have access to a truck/trailer, that would probably be easiest.

Or stick around and make some friends here, maybe someone will let you borrow one.

Haha I would love to stay in California as long as possible. But I will be doing good just to get all the way out there and still have time for riding all the great roads.
