Sounds like a lot of good info. I'm hoping the weather starts to clear a bit more soon. I figure its a day ride each way and so I woud stay overnight at least 2 nights but maybe 3.

I don't have people in the area so there has got to be some hotel somewhere I can park the bike and not worry about it getting stolen, no? Seriously, if its a big problem around there I'm going to need to know where there is some sort of secure parking.

Whats wrong with Mr. Bigs? Maybe we can get that sorted.

Looks like I'm going to need a map and a sharpie to figure out where all those places listed are. This is starting to sound more like a plan and less like a roadtrip already.

There are places that I would trust more than others. Specifically do not park the bike overnight at a hotel around Sycamore View Rd., Hickory Hill, or Southwind. I would trust my bike at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Germantown. I am a bit of a worry wart though, so you may be OK in Cordova.

Most of those are suggestions, so you don't have to make a plan. You definitely do have to ride at Shelby Forest though. One more thing regarding that, if you stop at the Shelby Forest General Store pay with cash, don't use a debit or credit card. Just trust me on that.

I've lived around here all my life except for my time in the Navy. I wholeheartedly recommend riding in Shelby Forest like others mentioned. If casinos are your thing they are due south of Memphis across the state line in Mississippi on Hwy. 61. Nice wide open roads on the delta. Lot's of "southern charm" when you are out of the casino area. Casino's aren't my thing but I do like the buffets.

Too bad you can't visit during Memphis in May. The Beale Street Musicfest is pretty good this year. Especially if you like rock. Plus the BBQ. Must have. Central BBQ is great. Ate there just last month for my birthday with some friends.

                  Have a safe ride.

We stayed at the Days Inn in West Memphis last year on the way back from our road trip/ Rally. The bike was on a trailer but i could have easily put it in the room if not. It was not bad and it was cheap (less than $50 a night for a King), and only a short drive into downtown. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=3...09656&t=h&z=17 It is the green roofed on on the top left. I might stop there again as a halfway point this year.

Make sure you do not make a wrong turn and end up in Orange Mound especially at night. One day you could also ride a little further south to Tunica and gamble at the casinos also. The memphis Zoo is one of the best i have been to. My kids also love Mudd Island.
