Hello Everyone!
I just bought very first bike, and it's a 93 Katana!
Its gonna be a streetfighter, and the theme will be related to the color scheme of old racing suzuki. (see below)
the bike was in fair conditions:
-rebuilt carbs
-rebuilt forks
-new brakes
-new tires
-fairing damaged (who cares! Ill trash them in any case!)
-the bike was not starting, needed new coils
-exposed to weather for the last 2 years
Being the first project and wanting to use this bike for everyday use, Im not going to do anything extreme.. but just a clean and simple streetfighter.
I took tips and suggestion posted in all the other projects in this forum
so I started the stripping and cutting excess parts..
the first step was to clean the tail from the bulky fender, and replace with a simple plate and indicator lights bracket. In this pictures the lateral fairings are trimmed, the fender is trimmed.
Result
then it was time for the only two other fairings that will be re installed on the bike
Results:
I know that there are several reasons to use the OEM airbox and not go with bare cone filters... But It look good! (and so far it runs smooth). Also I found that there are drilled holes in the airbox.. any ideas?
the new headlamp
Im already working on the reassembly of the tail with indicator lights, plate and plate lights..
In the mean time Im making a temporary bracket for the gauges. It will be used as a template for the final bracket which will house also the LEDs for neutral and all the other dash lights.
More pictures by the end of the weekend!
