            Sorry about all the cold stale popcorn guys. Not much progress made, the gf finally found a job though so a couple of more weeks and bills will be caught up and i will be off and running again.
            Need those hard to find crush washers for the bottom end of your forks? PM me, i've got plenty

                        Since Dennis isn't updating his thread.. I figured I would...
                        Made it to the machine shop today and had enough time to put the bottom clamp in the mill and knock off the steering stops..
                        Next up I'll drill and tap 2 holes near where the old stops were and make a pair of eccentrics so the steering stops can be adjusted.

                        Enjoy.. I will be picking up the new stem next week..

                          I picked up the new stem for 542's forks today. The machinist did a great job with the threads. New one is on the top... old on the bottom.
                          Next will to be to press the new stem into the bottom yoke. Then I can use the bearing blank to fit it in the test frame.

                            I made a bit more progress on the front end parts. I removed what was left of the original steering stops and blended them into the clamp.. Next the stem was added and the bearing blank put on to mark the location of the new stops.
