  • Project black powder

So i picked up my 1996 600 in december of 2008 and ive been "done" with it multiple times since then. Now ive decided to get my frame and suspension and basically anything metal powdercoated, some parts such as frame and suspension will be a really nice blue that seems purple in some lights and other parts such as the headlight cage and some other components to break it up will be gloss black powder, i started stripping it down today and im about four hours into disassembly as of now, ill add more info as i go but ill let the pictures tell the story-

The first time she was "done" when i got her running

How shes been since january of 2010 with fresh paint by me-

As of last saturday with my freshly painted solo cowl on that ive been ignoring for a long time now-

Heres what ive done today so far-

Ill add more as i go- when it goes back together itll also have newly rebuilt forks on it and a 03 750 shock along with a fresh sync and valve adjust, new plugs and bearings in the neck and swingarm components- Thanks for reading

Ok so i had posted up some semi final pics and progress but that got deleted so here it is again- I finished the bike and with the new suspension and a fresh tune its like an entirely different bike taking this thing down to the frame and rebuilding it up all the way was the best decision ever, here are the powder pics i havent gotten around to taking the pics with the fairings on yet but it really pops with the black body!
